Promotional Licensing
All Indie Commercial Rates (minus Covers) include a 35% Online Promotional License. This license allows social media, online advertisement, and website use.
Additional promotional use, including freebies/giveaway items (such as bookmarks, prints, stickers, postcards, etc), Patreon Use, Kickstarter incentives, and any media that is not for-sale but used for promotion of your book or project requires an additional promotional license cost.
Additional promotional licensing permits online and physical distribution of non-sale items by the author; The artist retains the ability to sell the artwork.
The average additional Promotional License is +15% and subject to higher rates based on large scale use.

Non-Exclusive Merch Licensing
Non-Exclusive Merch Licensing allows for the sale and redistribution of the artwork, in addition to the included promotional licensing. This can include freebie and for-sale artwork (such as prints, postcards, bookmarks, stickers, etc), self run Print Clubs and subscription services, in-book printing and distribution, and more.
Non-Exclusive licensing permits sale and distribution by both the author and the artist. The artist retains the ability to sell the artwork.
The average range to add a Non-Exclusive Merch License is an additional +25% - +35% added to the art cost, and may be higher based on large scale use.

Exclusive Merch Licensing
Exclusive Merch Licensing allows for the sale and redistribution of the artwork, in addition to the included promotional licensing. This can include freebie and for-sale artwork (such as prints, postcards, bookmarks, stickers, etc), self run Print Clubs and subscription services, in-book printing and distribution, and more.
Exclusive licensing permits sale and distribution by the author; The artist forfeits the ability to sell the artwork, but still retains the copyright.
The average range to add an Exclusive Merch License is an additional +40% - 65% added to the art cost, and may be higher based on large scale use.

Copyright Transfer
A Copyright Transfer, or a Full Buyout, transfers the copyright of the art from the artist to the client. The artist will no longer have the copyright to the artwork and the client is permitted unlimited use and ownership of the art. The artist cannot profit from the work or retain ownership under contractual agreement.
The starting cost of a copyright transfer is +300% of the art cost.
